PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interventional technique and an implant for redistributing force within joints in articular motion to provide a therapeutic effect.SOLUTION: Pathologies of joints arising from improper force distribution are addressed by displacement of targeted connective and muscle tissues surrounding the joints, which realigns force vectors and alters moment arms loading the joints. Embodiments of the present invention may be applied to virtually any joint, including but not limited to the knee and the hip joint. In addition to the implants and related prostheses and apparatus described, embodiments of the present invention include methods of treating joint disorders and methods of installing implants and prostheses for less invasive joint treatments. |
