PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalyst coating liquid capable of forming a hydrophilic thin film which has good pot life and coatability, can be dried and cured at normal temperature and has high transparency and long duration of catalytic activity.SOLUTION: There is provided a photocatalyst coating liquid which comprises (A) photocatalyst particles, (B) a binder component and (C) a water-soluble Lewis acid compound. The binder component of (B) component contains a hydrolysis condensate obtained by hydrolysis of (b-1) a hydrolyzable silicon compound in a mixed solvent of water and a polar organic solvent in the presence of a basic compound, the photocatalyst particles of (A) component are dispersed in the coating liquid, the ratio of (A) component to the total of (A) component and (B) component is 0.05 to 99.5 mass%, the ratio of the water-soluble Lewis acid compound of (C) component to the binder component of (B) component is 0.01 to 50 mass% and the coating liquid has a pH of 5 to 8. |
