The invention relates to a cast component (12), especially for an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle, which cast component comprises at least one hollow space (14) formed by a lost core (10), wherein the casting core (10) forms a porous metal body (20) cast into the hollow space (14). The invention further relates to a casting core (10) for a cast component (12) of this type, said casting core being formed by casting a metal, especially an aluminium alloy, together with a salt.
