摘要 The present invention addresses the problem of providing a method with which it is possible to reduce the cost of manufacturing biomass derived from microorganisms, especially the cost of manufacturing biomass derived from microalgae. Microorganisms are cultured in a region surrounded by a water-absorbent polymer gel and a substrate. The culture can be carried out when the structure composed of the water-absorbent gel and the substrate is arranged horizontally in relation to the ground, or when said structure is arranged at a constant angle in relation to the ground. The culture can further be carried out when the structure is arranged perpendicularly to the ground.
