The present invention addresses the problem of improving the abnormality detection precision of a sensor output signal in a power steering device and a control device for a vehicle-mounted instrument. Provided are a power steering device and a control device for a vehicle-mounted instrument wherein: at least four sensor output signals are used to determine abnormality; and when a signal that fulfills two conditions is present among the plurality of sensor output signals, namely, a first condition requiring that the number of signals that indicate the same value be the maximum number and a second condition requiring that the number of said signals be n + 1 or more (n equals the number of signals from a group to which the maximum number of signals belong among groups to which sensor output signals that share a common factor belong), it is determined that the sensor output signal that fulfills the first and the second conditions is a normal value and other signals are abnormal values. |
