[Also in Division F1] An aerosol dispensing device comprises a stem 36 secured to a cap 12 and provided with a valve portion 23 for closing an outlet from a metering chamber 27 and a cylinderical valve portion 22 for closing an inlet 25 communicating the metering chamber with the pressurized liquid in a container 3, the valve portion 23 being adapted to co-operate with a resilient washer 37 and the cylindrical portion having a reduced portion 28 for permitting the flow of liquid into the metering chamber. The cap 12 is made from a resilient material and secured to a body portion 1 attached to the neck of the container. In use, liquid flows past the reduced portion 28 into the metering chamber. Upon depressing the cap as shown, the cylindrical portion closes the inlet 25 and the valve portion 23 presses against the resilient washer so as to permit a measured quantity of liquid to flow from the metering chamber via grooves 35 in the valve portion 23. In a modification body portion 1 is slidably mounted on the neck of the container and is adapted upon depression of the cap, to first open a valve within the neck of the container prior to the closing of the valve 22.</p> |
