PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cell lines that express simian adenovirus genes, vectors and methods for using the cell lines.SOLUTION: The invention provides use of a recombinant vector comprising simian adenovirus sequences and a heterologous gene under the control of a regulatory sequence. As the vector is derived from a simian, the immune system of a patient is not primed to immediately respond to the vector as a foreign antigen, which enables more stable expression of the selected transducing gene. The vector can be used for delivery of a heterologous molecule for the purpose of therapy or vaccination.
