PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stranded wire conductor for an insulated wire which has an approximately circular cross-sectional shape and does not deteriorate flexural properties.SOLUTION: In a stranded wire conductor for an insulated wire which comprises an inner layer comprising a central wire 1 and a plurality of wires arranged around the central wire 1 and an outer layer comprising a plurality of wires arranged around the inner layer, the inner layer comprises 7 or more second wires 2a having a diameter smaller than that of the central wire 1, the adjacent second wires 2a are brought into contact with each other, and the plurality of wires composing the outer layer have a diameter smaller than that of the central wire 1.
