PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biometric authentication device capable of achieving high accuracy high-speed authentication by simple registration even if a degree of freedom of how to place a palm is improved.SOLUTION: A fingerprint image acquisition unit 1 acquires fingerprint images of a plurality of fingers. A vein image acquisition unit 3 acquires a palm vein image. An authentication information DB 6 stores reference vein feature information and a reference direction of a predetermined finger in a palm vein image of a reference hand for which the reference vein feature information is acquired. A reference acquisition unit 20 detects a major axis direction of the predetermined finger based on the fingerprint images acquired by the fingerprint image acquisition unit 1. A position correction unit 40 corrects the palm vein image acquired by the vein image acquisition unit 3 on the basis of the major axis direction of the predetermined finger detected by the reference acquisition unit 20 and the reference direction of the predetermined finger. A vein feature information extraction unit 4 acquires vein feature information from the corrected palm vein image. A collation processing unit 32 performs authentication by collating the vein feature information acquired by the vein feature information extraction unit 4 with the reference vein feature information. |
