This fuel pump is provided with: a pump cover (60) which has a suction inlet (61) and is provided on one end (201) of a housing (20); a cover end (40) which has a discharge outlet (422) and is provided on the other end (202) of the housing; and a bearing (55) which is supported by the cover end and which rotatably supports the end (521) of the shaft (52) on the side of the cover end. The cover end is formed from a base part (41) which covers the end (202), a discharge part (42) which is connected to the base part and forms a discharge port, a bearing receiving unit (43) which has a receiving space (430) which receives the bearing and which formed such that the cross section orthogonal to the rotation axis (&phgr;) of the shaft is ring-shaped, and a connection part (44) which connects the base part and the bearing receiving part. In the connection part, the length (R44) in the direction of the rotation axis (&phgr;) is shorter than the length (R41) of the base part in the direction of the rotation axis (&phgr;) and the length (R43) of the bearing receiving part in the direction of the rotation axis (&phgr;). |
