PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a thin circular polarizing plate with high productivity.SOLUTION: There is provided a manufacturing method of a long circular polarizing plate comprising the steps (1) to (6) in this order: (1) continuously coating a composition for optical alignment film formation on a long polarizing plate to form a first coating film on the long polarizing plate; (2) drying the first coating film to form a first dry coating; (3) irradiating the first dry coating with polarized light in an oblique direction relative to the longitudinal direction of the long polarizing plate to form a long optical alignment film having a direction of an alignment regulating force oblique relative to the longitudinal direction of the long polarizing plate; (4) continuously coating a composition for liquid crystal hardened film formation including a polymerizable liquid crystal compound (A) on the long optical alignment film to form a second coating film on the long optical alignment film; (5) drying the second coating film to form a second dry coating; and (6) hardening the second dry coating to form a long retardation film.
