PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous electrolyte lithium secondary battery with a high specific capacity and an excellent thermal stability characteristic.SOLUTION: A positive electrode active material blend is a blend of lithium nickel cobalt oxide (and aluminum substituted compounds thereof) and lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide. A positive electrode active material blend is formed by blending, in a predetermined proportion, lithium nickel cobalt oxide represented by LiNi0.8Co0.2O2 with lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide represented by Li(1.06)(Ni1/3Mn1/3Co1/3)0.95O2.
