A transmission tower structure for suspending an overhead power line, comprising: a tower structure including a vertical pylon and a cantilevered arm having a distal end relative to the vertical pylon; first, second, and third phase conductor bundles for transmitting electrical power in an electrical power transmission system, each conductor bundle comprised of multiple spaced-apart conductors, and each conductor bundle for transmitting electrical power at a different electrical phase angle; first, second, and third v-string insulator units for suspending the first, second, and third conductor bundles, respectively, such that each conductor bundle hangs below the respective v-string insulator unit from which it is suspended, wherein the first v-string insulator unit includes a first leg attached to the vertical pylon and a second leg attached to the cantilevered arm, the second v-string insulator unit includes a first leg attached to the first v-string insulator unit and a second leg attached to the cantilevered arm, and the third v-string insulator unit includes a first leg attached to the vertical pylon and a second leg attached to the second v-string insulator unit; and wherein the suspended first, second and third conductor bundles form a delta configuration with the distal end of the cantilevered arm closer to the second conductor bundle than the first and third conductor bundles.
