<p>The present invention enables the cutting out and rearrangement of character images contained in a document image even if a dedicated application program is not installed in a portable telephone. A document is imaged (step 53), the layout of the document image is analyzed (step 54), and a layout information table and character information table are generated that indicate the layout, character position information, and the like contained in the document image. Also, in accordance with the portable telephone, a document formatting program is created (step 55). The document image file, layout information table, character information table, and document formatting program are transmitted to the portable telephone as HTML resources (step 56). If a browser is installed in the portable telephone, it becomes possible for the character images contained in the document image to be cut out and rearranged.</p> |
