Method for transmitting data between a number of distribution point units (DPU's) and a number of end-user devices, over a plurality of lines, said method comprising: grouping said plurality of lines in at least a first set and a second set; allocating a first number of time slots to said first set; and a second number of times slots to said second set; allowing the lines of said first set to simultaneously transmit data during said first number of time slots; and allowing the lines of said second set to simultaneously transmit data during said second number of time slots, wherein said allowing is controlled in such a way that said first set and said second set transmit at different moments in time.
