Disclosed is a vote counting apparatus. According to an embodiment of the present invention, there is provided a vote counting apparatus having a discharge function by detecting a double paper feed, which includes: a housing having a feeding part for feeding a ballot and a discharging part for discharging the ballot to an outside; a duplication sensing unit disposed at a rear end of the feeding part to sense whether a double paper feed of ballots transferred from the feeding part; a vote counting unit disposed at a rear end of the duplication sensing unit to read and count information about a marking of the ballot passing through the duplication sensing unit; a classification box for keeping the ballot passing through a transfer path via the vote counting unit; a transfer unit provided on the transfer path to transfer the ballot from the feeding part to the classification box or the discharge part; and a control unit for controlling the transfer unit such that the ballot is discharged to the discharge part when the duplication sensing unit senses a double paper feed.
