<p>This utility model generally relates to non-alcoholic non-carbonated ready-to-drink beverage from lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus Stapf.) kalamansi (Citrofortunella microcarpa) fruit extract and ginger (Zingiber officinalis). The objective of this product is to a solution to the health problems brought about by the technological development in the country through a healthy ready-to-drink beverage. A formulation of nonalcoholic, noncarbonated, ready-to-drink beverage containing high antioxidants, citral, and has great taste is disclosed, comprising, (a) harvesting lemongrass plants, removing leaf blades from the plant, thereby retaining only the leaf sheaths (lower bulbous part); washing and cutting them into 1/8 inch pieces; (b) 10-15 pcnt lemongrass decoction made by boiling 10-15 pcnt lemongrass leaf sheaths cut at 1/8 inch in 100 ml purified water for 3 mins, and strained; (c) adding 4-5 pcnt kalamansi (Citrofortunella microcarpa) fruit extract; (d) adding 2-3 pcnt granulated ginger tea; (d) adding 10- 12 pcnt white refined sugar; and (e) adjusting the soluble solids content to 10-12 oBrix.</p> |
