A photographic film comprises a polyethylene teraphthalate support subbed first with a polyester of phthalic acid and an aliphatic diol and then a copolymer of styrene and an unsaturated carboxylic acid or anhydride, or first with a mixture of said polyester and said styrene copolymer, and then with a gelatine layer and a gelatino-silver halide emulsion layer. The styrene copolymer may be with maleic anhydride, itaconic acid, acrylic acid or acrylic acid and ethyl acrylate or itaconic acid. The aliphatic diol component for the polyester sub may be ethylene glycol, neopentyl glycol or 1, 6-hexane diol or mixtures thereof, and the acid component may include sebacic or adipic acid as well as the phthalic acid, which latter may be iso-phthalic acid with or without tere-phthalic acid. |
