The present invention relates to a power conversion apparatus. More specifically, in order to solve problems of switching loss and unnecessary operation of a converter of the existing technology, provided is a power conversion apparatus which compares with an input voltage of a converter by detecting minimum output voltage of a boost converter boosting a DC voltage, prevents the unnecessary operation of the converter by controlling the converter based on the compared result, prolongs an electrical and mechanical life span of the converter accordingly, reduces switching loss of the converter, has an effect of increasing efficiency of the power conversion apparatus and the entire system accordingly, enables the power conversion apparatus to be flexibly controlled and managed by detecting a parameter which is an operating condition of the converter and controlling the converter based on the parameter, and has an effect of realizing various applications to a system operation system and flexible system operation due to wide applicability of the power conversion apparatus.
