The insulation composite element has a plate-shaped insulation element (2), which is adhered to a component wall (1) and which has a recess (4) congruent to a wall recess (6) of the component wall. A window element (8) or a closure element is foamed in the insulation element in the recess parallel to the main plane of the insulation element while foaming the insulation element. An independent claim is also included for a method for insulating a component wall.
