<p>A water tank can be mounted in a household appliance such as a de-humidifier. The water tank comprises a container 20 slideably mounted in a shell 10, a float 30 and a magnetic reed switch 40. The float 30 is mounted pivotally in the container 20 and has an actuating rod 31 with a magnet 32. Since the actuating rod 31 uses magnetic force to switch the magnetic reed switch 40 on and off, the actuating rod 31 and the reed switch 40 need no abutting structures so if the actuating rod 31 is pivoted by an accidental force, the actuating rod 31 self-pivots back to the original position. The actuating rod may be mounted through gaps in the side walls of the container and shell. The container may slide from an opening in the shell on an opposite side to the gap.</p> |
