1,118,701. Endless conveyers. SINGERCOBBLE Ltd. 17 Feb., 1966 [30 March, 1965], No. 13401/65. Heading B8A. A conveyer comprises a pair of spaced chains 15 running in guide means 18a, 18b and interconnected by a plurality of substantially equally spaced, transverse tensioned wires 17 attached to each link 15a of the chain by suitably shaped retention means 20a, 20b. One of the guide means 18b is movable relative to the other 18a in a direction transverse of the conveyer to apply the tension to the wires 17. The movable guide means 18b being moved by spring, hydraulic or pneumatic means (not shown). A pair of such conveyers (11a) are arranged in spaced relation, Fig. 1 (not shown), to form a predetermined gap (12) between their respective lower and upper runs through which a spongy type of material (14) may be conveyed. Apparatus (13) are arranged on the reverse side of the conveying runs to pass, e.g. hot air between the wires 17 and over and through the material (14). The retention means 20a, 20b may be either cranked (Fig. 2) to provide a smaller gap between the respective conveyers or they may be straight (Fig. 3). The conveyers (11a) are fitted with means (not shown) for adjusting the size of the gap (12). |
