A lathe turret comprises a rotatable member 6 having two cutting tools 17, 18 secured thereto, the member being mounted for rotation within a body part 1 between two angular positions and is urged into the respective positions by hydraulic pressure. The member 6 is rotatable relative to an actuate member 9 within a bore 3 in the body 1, there being a part annular chamber A formed between the bore of the body port and the cylindrical surface of the member 6. A radially positioned longitudinally extending rib 12 is secured to the surface of the member 6 and which forms a vane type piston in the annular chamber. The admission of hydraulic pressure fluid sequentially to ports 14 and 15 are on each side of the body 1 effects rotational movement of the member 6 between the abutment surfaces 13, 13<SP>1</SP> of the arcuate member 9, thereby causing angular movement of the tools 17, 18. The hydraulic pressure urges and maintains the rib 12 into engagement with the respective abutment surfaces when alternate tools are used. |
