In a rotary drum having mounted thereon a bearing ring (1), Fig. 3 (not shown) with uniformly-disposed followers 8, Fig. 2, welded to its inner periphery and situated between projections 4 on the outer drum surface, the spaces between projections are of greater width than the followers and the gaps between the projections and followers are filled by wedges 10. The wedges 10 are welded at 11 after assembly. Relative radial movement between the parts is permitted by play (not shown) and the bearing ring is positioned axially by strips 12 welded to the projections 4. In a modification the projections have a bevel to clear the welding seam (9<SP>1</SP>), Fig. 5 (not shown), and the wedges (10) are thinner than the followers (8<SP>1</SP>) . |
