PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for marking an electric wire capable of restraining enlargement of the device, restraining a loss of ink and deterioration of an identification property, and easily controlling an ink application amount.SOLUTION: A marking device 1 marks a coating part of an electric wire 100, and has a stamp part 30. The stamp part 30 holds supplied dye ink, and is made of a porous material for sandwiching and stamping the coating part of the electric wire 100. The porous material has porosity of 64% or more and 75% or less, and an average pore diameter of 10 μm or more and 50 μm or less. |
