<p>A method and a portable rescue device for locating avalanche victims comprises searching, with a portable electromagnetic signal receiver (Rx), an electromagnetic signal emitted by a portable electromagnetic signal transmitter (Tx); a first tracking step for measuring and following the magnetic field of the electromagnetic signal emitted by the portable electromagnetic signal transmitter and a second tracking step comprising determining the location of the portable electromagnetic signal transmitter by estimating the spatial position thereof from output signals provided by a plurality of magnetic vector sensors (S1-S5) of the portable electromagnetic signal receiver (Rx), arranged forming an array, by exploiting their spatial diversity.</p> |
