1,126,812. Controlling induced draught fans. DEUTSCHE BABCOCK & WILCOX-DAMPFKESSEL-WERKE A.G. 13 Oct., 1965 [7 Nov., 1964], No. 43363/65. Heading F4B. [Also in Division G1] The throttle control of an induced draught fan in the flue of a boiler, which may be a waste heat boiler operating on converter waste gases, is regulated with reference to the waste gas temperature and the rate of flow of waste gas in the flue outlet as indicated by a differential pressure measurement. The throttle may be controlled so that a constant ratio is maintained between the temperature and rate of flow such that a constant small oxygen excess is present or so that the converter waste gases are not burnt in the boiler. The throttle control can be adjusted manually if the automatic regulation fails. |
