A method is intended for providing a network equipment (1) associated to a location-based service with information representative of location of a wireless communication equipment (2) associated to at least one user identifier. This method comprises a step during which one determines a location area defining this information to be provided to the network equipment (1) and including a current location of the wireless communication equipment (2) and current location of at least a chosen number k of other wireless communication equipments accessing this location-based service and whose each preceding location was also included into each preceding location area previously determined for this wireless communication equipment (2).
