A litter box for a cat, or another animal, characterised in that the litter box essentially consists of a closable box (2) that is provided with an opening (3) with a flap (4) or similar for the access of the animal (10) and a closable opening (5) for introducing or removing a removable tray (13) filled with sand (14), grit or similar, whereby the closable box (2) is provided with a built-in fan (15) and a connection (16) for an outlet for transporting the extracted air to a ventilation system of a home or similar. Optionally a presence sensor can be fitted to detect when the animal is in the box so that the fan can be switched on and off depending on the signal from the motion sensor; a further option is to include a timer to control the switching on and off of the fan in conjunction with the presence sensor. |
