<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily investigate the double use of a common image use declaration sentence. <P>SOLUTION: In an input data improvement support apparatus, a common image use declaration sentence is extracted from input data. The common image use declaration sentence is a declaration sentence indicating an instruction to generate common image data to be used for printing from common data corresponding to a common image to be printed on a plurality of pages. Continuously, reduced images 95a-95d of the common image corresponding to each common image use declaration sentence are acquired as image specification information, and the number of times of using and pages used for the common image data corresponding to each common image use declaration sentence are acquired from the input data and outputted onto a display in a table format as improvement support information. A user of a printing device watches the improvement support information, thereby easily grasping the number of times of using or pages used for each of common images included in the input data.
