In a power grid related data network, individual local energy managers LEMs to which individual units in the power grid refer, and a central energy manager, CEM, make use of a particular messaging: The LEMs send requests for energy consumption or provision, the CEM responds thereto prior to the LEMs providing a final decision which is indicated to the CEM.
