<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lining method with excellent workability, capable of reducing the time for forming a lining pipe and further facilitating the carrying and handling of a lining material. <P>SOLUTION: In the lining method for regenerating a dilapidated existing pipe 100, a coil body 12 is reduced in diameter by giving to the coil body 12 a rotational force in its winding direction. The diameter-reduced coil body 12 is inserted into the existing pipe 100 as it is, and a lining material 14 subjected to diameter-reduction treatment is inserted to the inside of the coil body 12. The lining material 14 is restored to a substantially circular cross-sectional shape by applying internal pressure thereto with heating, whereby a lining pipe 24 is formed.
