<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a rubber composition for a tire, by which high mileage, wet grip performance, and workability can be obtained well-balancedly; to provide the rubber composition for the tire, which can be obtained through the method; and to provide a pneumatic tire produced by using the rubber composition. <P>SOLUTION: The rubber composition for the tire comprises: a modified diene rubber that has an interaction with a silica; the silica; a silane coupling agent that has a mercapto group; zinc oxide; and a vulcanizing agent.
