The invention relates to a bill handling apparatus. The image of the bill as evidence is stored and presented in an automatic transaction device. The capacity and computing ability of a storage device of the automatic transaction device are limited, thus the image compression with less computing amount is needed. A bill recognition device has the image shooting function, a bill control device has the image compressing and storing function, and the image shooting function uses the bill identification information of various bills to omit the shooting repeatability, and a variation differentiation dictionary considering the position deviation of the sample image of the bill is kept in the image compression process, thus the computing amount is reduced, and the identification information of the bill such as bill kind, surface and back of the bill, direction and deterioration degree, which is obtained based on the bill recognition device, is switched in a compression dictionary used in the compression process, so as to increase the compression efficiency, thus the problem is resolved. |
