1. An air conditioner, comprising:
an outdoor unit and an indoor unit that receive electric power from a main power supply line, the air conditioner being configured to transition to a suspended state in which electric power is supplied to the indoor unit but no electric power is supplied to the outdoor unit and to transition to the suspended state from an operating state in which the air conditioner is operable, the outdoor unit being configured to transition to a a suspended state and to be connectable to an indoor unit that is configured to transition to a suspended state and an indoor unit that is not configured to transition to the suspended state; an outdoor control circuit provided in the outdoor unit and configured to receive electric power from the main power supply line through a power supply wiring; and a selection mechanism provided on the power supply wiring, and configured to prevent a current flow in the power supply wiring in an operation stop period to determine whether to adapt the outdoor unit to the indoor unit that is configured to transition to the suspended state, and configured to inhibit transition of the outdoor unit to the suspended state in a case where the outdoor unit is not adapted to the indoor unit that is configured to transition to the suspended state.
