A power-supply device includes a rectifying unit configured to rectify a phase-controlled AC voltage; a current limiting unit including a current limiting resistor, which limits an input current flowing from the rectifying unit at rise of a rectified voltage outputted from the rectifying unit; and an adjustment unit configured to cause the current limiting unit to limit the input current flowing from the rectifying unit until a predetermined time period has elapsed after an input of the AC voltage to the rectifying unit is started.

1. A power-supply device comprising:
a rectifying unit configured to rectify a phase-controlled AC voltage; a current limiting unit including a current limiting resistor, which limits an input current flowing from the rectifying unit at rise of a rectified voltage outputted from the rectifying unit; and an adjustment unit configured to cause the current limiting unit to limit the input current flowing from the rectifying unit to a capacitor connected to a rear end of the rectifying unit and charged in accordance with the rectified voltage, until a predetermined time period has elapsed after an input of the AC voltage to the rectifying unit is started, wherein the current limiting unit includes a switching element which is connected in parallel to the current limiting resistor, and the current limiting unit is configured to limit the input current using the current limiting resistor when the switching element is in an OFF state, and wherein the adjustment unit causes the switching element to be in the OFF state until the predetermined time period has elapsed after the input of the AC voltage to the rectifying unit is started.
