There is provided a skin rejuvenation composition which comprises at least one oxidant, at least one photoactivator capable of activating the oxidant, and at least one healing factor chosen from hyaluronic acid, glucosamine and allantoin, in association with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.

1. A method for reversing or mitigating skin aging, comprising:
(a) topically applying on a patient's skin an effective amount of a composition comprising at least one oxidant, and Eosin Y; and (b) exposing said composition to actinic light having an emission wavelength between about 400 nm and 600 nm for a time sufficient to cause a change in color of the fluorescent compound; thereby reversing or mitigating skin aging.
