The present invention relates to a method for screening an ovarian cancer treating agent targeting VSIG4, wherein the method comprises the steps of: bringing a test material in contact with an ovarian cancer cell strain; measuring an expression or activity degree of a VSIG4 protein in an ovarian cancer cell strain contacting the test material; and sorting a test material having the decreased VSIG4 protein expression or activity degree compared to a control group sample. Moreover, the present invention provides a method for detecting a VSIG4 marker for diagnosing ovarian cancer, wherein the method comprises the steps of: measuring the mRNA expression level of a VSIG4 gene or the expression level of a protein that the gene codes from an ovarian cancer patient sample; comparing the mRNA expression level of a VSIG4 gene or the expression level of a protein that the gene codes to a normal control group sample; and determining ovarian cancer when the mRNA expression level of the patient sample or the expression level of a protein is higher than the normal control group sample. Meanwhile, the sample may be the seroperitoneum of a cancer patient and GM-CSF cytokine.
