Use of at least one polyethylenimine as an additive in an aqueous suspension, containing from 25 to 62 vol. % of at least one calcium carbonate-comprising material, wherein the use provides improved stability with regard to the conductivity of the suspension.

An aqueous suspension comprising from 25 to 62 vol. % of at least one calcium carbonate-comprising material and at least one polyethylenimine, and having a pH in the range of between 8.5 and 11, wherein the aqueous suspension is obtained by adding the at least one polyethylenimine to the suspension in an amount of from 500 to 15000 mg per liter of the aqueous phase of the suspension, so that the pH of the suspension is increased by at least 0.3 pH units and the conductivity change is not more than 100 μS/cm per pH unit.
