PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a touch panel input device with good operation responsiveness.SOLUTION: A touch panel input device is disposed on a planar operation surface CP for receiving an operation of an operation unit and detects a position of contact of the operation unit with the operation surface CP on the basis of shielded light on a planar scanning optical path surface SL1. The touch panel input device includes a first scanning optical path forming section which forms a linear first scanning optical path L1, and a second scanning optical path forming section which forms a linear second scanning optical path L2 intersecting with the first scanning optical path L1. The first and second optical paths L1 and L2 constitute the scanning optical path surface SL1. The scanning optical path surface SL1 is inclined with respect to the operation surface CP. |
