PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel and useful periodontal disease bacterial inhibitor and an oral composition.SOLUTION: A periodontal disease bacterial inhibitor and an oral composition which contain as an active ingredient a Scutellaria root extract extracted from the root, rhizome, and root bark of Scutellaria baicalensis, a plant of Lamiaceae Scutellaria. An oral composition has an inhibitory action against at least one or more kind of periodontal disease bacteria among Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, Porphyromonas gingivalis, Prevotella intermedia, and Fusobacterium nucleatum as periodontal disease bacteria. |
