PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mercury removal system capable of removing vaporized mercury generated at a time of pulverizing raw coal.SOLUTION: Provided is a mercury removal system 1 installed in a gasification system that includes: a coal pulverizer 122 pulverizing and drying raw coal into powdered coal; a powdered coal collector 123 collecting the powdered coal discharged from the coal pulverizer 122 and separating the powdered coal from dry gas; a gasification furnace 113 gasifying the powdered coal separated by the powdered coal collector 123, the mercury removal system 1 comprising a removal material supply device 11 that supplies mercury removal powder for removing mercury contained in the dry gas to upstream of the powdered coal collector 123 in a flow direction of the powdered coal.
