PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ready-to-use catheter assembly preventing any deterioration of a catheter during sterilization.SOLUTION: A method for producing a catheter assembly 1 includes processes of: disposing a catheter 3 having hydrophilic coating and a wetting liquid 4 inside a catheter package 2 produced of a low moisture-permeable material in a first state that a length of the hydrophilic coating of the catheter capable of being inserted does not contact with the wetting liquid; sterilizing the catheter package together with the catheter and the wetting liquid by radiation sterilization means while the catheter package is held in the state that the length of the hydrophilic coating of the catheter capable of being inserted does not contact with the wetting liquid; transferring the catheter package to a second state together with the catheter and the wetting liquid, thereby, bringing the wetting liquid into contact with the length of the hydrophilic coating of the catheter capable of being inserted by gravitation and/or inertial, and activating the length of the hydrophilic coating of the catheter capable of being inserted. |
