摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technique for reducing the whole length of an ultra-low temperature freezer.SOLUTION: In an ultra-low temperature freezer, a scotch yoke mechanism includes an eccentric rotor, and a yoke plate 35 reciprocated by rotation of the eccentric rotor. A displacer 13 is connected to the yoke plate 35 so as to be reciprocated together with the yoke plate 35. A cylinder 11 stores the displacer 13, and forms an expansion space 21 of refrigerant gas between the displacer 13 and the cylinder 11. An airtight vessel is provided on a high temperature side of the cylinder 11, and has a storage space 4 for storing the scotch yoke mechanism, and is constituted to receive the refrigerant gas discharged from the expansion space 21. The airtight vessel includes a support part for supporting a side part of the yoke plate 35 so as to regulate tilting the yoke plate 35 around a rotating shaft of the eccentric rotor.
