PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for generating a gas in a micropump capable of increasing a gas generation amount per unit time.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for generating a gas of generating a gas, in a micropump provided with a gas generation material. Using a gas generator as an azo compound or an azide compound and a photosensitizer as a thioxanthone compound or a phenothiazine compound, the gas generation material is irradiated with light having a wavelength of 380 to 410 nm to generate a gas from the gas generation material.
