PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer capacitor that has high capacitance and high withstand voltage characteristics, and is usable as a main capacitor for flashing a xenon discharge tube.SOLUTION: A multilayer capacitor 100 includes: a laminated body 1 including a stack of a plurality of dielectric layers 5; a plurality of capacitive electrodes 3 and a plurality of floating electrodes 4 alternately disposed with the dielectric layers 5 interposed therebetween in the laminated body 1; and a first external electrode part 2a and a second external electrode part 2b provided on side surfaces of the laminated body 1, electrically connected to the capacitive electrodes 3, and electrically isolated from the floating electrodes 4. The capacitive electrodes 3 have a first capacitive electrode part 31 composed of a plurality of first electrode parts 31a, 31b, and 31c that are electrically isolated from one another, and a second capacitive electrode part 32 composed of a plurality of second electrode parts 32a, 32b, and 32c that are electrically isolated from one another. The floating electrodes 4 are composed of a plurality of floating electrode parts 4a, 4b, and 4c that are electrically isolated from one another. |
