PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress shock when an engine is connected to restart during motor traveling.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device includes: an engaging mechanism that allows torque transmission between an engine and a power transmission mechanism and interrupts the torque transmission; and a torque generating rotating machine that is connected to the power transmission mechanism to output driving force for traveling. The vehicle control device enables selection of a first mode of traveling by using the driving force output by the torque generating rotating machine while the torque transmission between the engine and the power transmission mechanism is interrupted by stopping the operation of the engine and disengaging the engaging mechanism and a second mode of traveling by using the driving force output by the torque generating rotating machine while the torque transmission between the engine and the power transmission mechanism is allowed by stopping the operation of the engine and engaging the engaging mechanism. When the estimation that control responsiveness of at least either one of the engaging mechanism and the torque generating rotating machine is deviated from a predetermined range is made during traveling with the engine stopped, the second mode is selected (Step S4). |
