The present invention relates to a diagnostic strip insertion type reader and, more specifically, a diagnostic strip insertion type reader, comprising a case with an inner space in which the diagnostic strip is inserted; a movable plate which is installed in the inner space of the case and is moved by inserting the diagnostic strip; a movable tool whose one side is connected to the movable plate and the other side is connected to the side surface of the inside case, thereby moving; a light source which is installed on one surface of the inside case to radiate light to the diagnostic strip; and a light detector which detects light which is reflected or penetrated from the diagnostic strip wherein the movable plate and tool enable the diagnostic strip in the reader to move, thereby obtaining signal values from detection areas like a reactive area and a contrast area in the diagnostic strip and accordingly accurately measuring the level of reaction quickly in the detection area. Therefore, in the present invention, provided is a small sized diagnostic strip reader.
