PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surely adjust the projection attitude of a projector.SOLUTION: A projector PJ1 includes a light source 310, a light modulation element 321 having an image forming area 321a where an image is formed by modulating light emitted from the light source 310, a projection optical system (projection lens 330) projecting the image formed by the light modulation element 321, to display the image on a display surface, a housing 200 holding at least the light modulation element 321 and the projection optical system, an inclination detection part 500 detecting the inclination of the housing 200 having a rotation axis along the optical axis of the projection optical system, and an image display control part 400 forming a reference line at a predetermined angle to a horizontal line on the image forming area 321a, regardless of the inclination of the housing 200. The image display control part 400 changes the inclination of the reference line with respect to the image forming area 321a, according to the inclination of the housing 200 detected by the inclination detection part 500, so that the reference line has the predetermined angle to the horizontal line. |
