PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of inhibiting a gas, which is evaporated from a liquid surface of a lubricant and includes the lubricant, from adhering to a disc.SOLUTION: A spindle motor 11A rotates a disc 12A in a housing comprising a base plate 21A and a top cover 14A covering an upper part of the base plate. The spindle motor includes a fluid dynamic pressure bearing 7A including a lubricant. A rotary part body of the spindle motor has a vent hole 60A. An upper opening 601A of the vent hole communicates with an annular space 63A between the top cover and the rotary part body. A lower opening 602A of the vent hole communicates with a clearance 61A between a stator and a magnet. Thus, even if a gas, which is evaporated from a liquid surface of the lubricant and includes the lubricant, leaks into the annular space, at least one part of the gas including the lubricant flows into the vent hole. As a result, the gas including the lubricant is inhibited from diffusing to the radial outer side of the vent hole. |
